Please Help Support King Harbor Youth Foundation - Redondo Union High School Sailors!
What is the King Harbor Youth Foundation?
Our King Harbor Youth Foundation is a 501 c.3 non-profit dedicated to get kids of all backgrounds on the water and to learn character-building skills through sailing. We offer year-round programs that align with our mission, like; Summer Sailing Camp, Fall and Spring Learn-to-Sail classes, Year-Round Opti and FJ Race Teams, and our New Channels Program.
What is New Channels?
The New Channels program is an avenue to get individuals on the water that would not otherwise have the opportunity. The Foundation puts its resources to work with a huge family of non-profits and organizations, taking their members out for a custom on-the-water boating experience in the King Harbor channel, with brief interludes into the ocean. Some of these participants have never been on the water prior and leave with a new appreciation for the Ocean.
These activities are provided free of charge and tailored to a diverse range of audiences. New Channels is geared to ages 10 to 18, but open to all that fit the need. Sessions range about two hours and include activities such as sailing, power boating and kayaking. Before each session, participants begin with a brief lesson about the activity and safety, and conclude with a group lunch.
