Join Frisco High School's Human Environmental Animal Team (H.E.A.T.) in raising money for women in Ecuador through the WE Villages program!
WE Villages is an adaptive international development model built on two decades of working with communities and experts around the world. Poverty isn’t the result of one single cause. Therefore, their model is neither a single solution nor a handout. Instead, it’s based on five pillars: education, water, health, food, and opportunity. Each works in tandem to transform communities. Their definition of success: impact that lasts for generations.
Out of the entire population of Ecuador, 21.5 percent live in poverty (UNdata, 2017). Although progress has been made, the Indigenous people still remain the ethnic group most affected by poverty. These communities have little access to education, clean water, economic opportunities, health care and the resources needed to maintain a nutritious food supply, thus preventing them from escaping the grip of poverty.
So our goal is to raise funds for the Opportunity WE Villages Pillar in Ecuador with your help! The Opportunity Pillar primarily supports and empowers women with the tools, knowledge, and opportunity to earn a livelihood so that they can take control of their futures. WE Villages helps facilitate lending circles, financial literacy, and business training for these women to generate a sustainable source of income and achieve financial independence.
The Human Environmental Animal Team, also known as H.E.A.T., is a social service organization dedicated to improving the world through positive activism. H.E.A.T. promotes the ideas, people, and organizations taking steps forward rather than dwelling on the negative. We often collaborate with other organizations, using our numbers as a platform to create world-changing campaigns. FHS H.E.A.T. is a chapter of H.E.A.T, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The H.E.A.T establishment is found across Texas, but the Frisco High School chapter is the 1st high school chapter in North Texas! As a team, we hope to create a long-lasting world impact by engaging students, peers, and those who are willing to extend the boundaries of activism and bring positivity to change!
