Call to Action!
We must raise money for Civil Right Organizations to support their administration staff and consequential costs required to fuel legislative changes in our democracy. This campaign will allow civil rights activists to devote their time to the fight for justice. Many civil right activists are volunteers who generously give of their time, but that time is limited by full-time jobs that aid in distracting activists from their true calling, and our need. We need full-time change-makers to organize and galvanize policy makers. The Friends of the NAACP is a 501c committed to fundraise and hire dedicated support that can fully devote themselves to the cause.
The violence experienced by African Americans has unfortunately been my reality too many times. As a Black man in America, I have been assaulted, shot at and almost killed. I’ve been unfairly profiled by the police. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, a long time cauldron of violence and brutality. And even after moving to Sacramento, California, I’ve still had to experience violence, racial profiling and discrimination. I remember the Rodney King beating in the 90s and when Stephen Clark was shot and killed by the police just recently in my own city. I’ve reached a boiling point of frustration, and rather than simmer in my own anger, I would rather purport positive action for change. I’m asking for allies and donations to help make change in America and finally end police brutality. I appreciate you taking the time to read this, and hope that you will join me and millions of other Americans on the road for change. It is imperative that we all be on the right side of history, and fight for change not only socially but economically. Let’s organize for change now!
