Friends for Life Rescue Network is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue dedicated to saving the lives of homeless and abandoned pets. Our mission is to create a cross-country network of rescues, independent rescuers, and animal lovers/advocates working together to eliminate shelter euthanasia and animal homelessness.
Established in 2016, Friends for Life Rescue Network is a 501(c)3 non-profit committed to reducing animal homelessness and euthanasia through shelter pulls, stray/semi-feral intake and socialization, TNR, taking owner surrenders, taking on special needs and emergency cases, promoting adoptions, and joining forces with the City of Commerce to develop an intercept program to prevent animals from entering an already overpopulated shelter. We work throughout Southern California - from Hesperia, to Santa Barbara, to Lancaster.
A Second Chance for a Very Special Pair
Thumper and Flower are sibling kitties with special needs, both born with radial aplasia. This means, they were BOTH born without radius bones in both forelimbs. Thumper walks on his hind legs and often uses one arm as a crutch. Flower tends to use both arms as a crutch. They came from an abusive home and are very, very shy. At times, it seems like their spirit is broken due to their prior experiences…Thumper less so than Flower. They will need to go to an understanding home, and until the perfect home comes along, we are giving them the medical attention and physical therapy they need, and they are being loved and cared for in a foster home where they are learning to trust humans, being socialized, and learning to cat. Each animal in our rescue has its own unique story and your donation goes to help these animals, like Thumper and Flower, who deserve a chance to find love in their forever home.
The Importance of a Foster Home
Our network of foster homes provide a safe haven for our animals while they wait for their forever homes. Our foster volunteers consider their foster pets part of their family. They love them, help them acclimate to a home environment, teach them to trust humans, socialize them, and provide the space where the fosters’ personalities can flourish. Living in a home setting allows us to see the animals’ true selves so we can find a forever home that is best suited for them. The love and dedication of our foster volunteers towards their foster babies lay a foundation of love for these animals that makes all the difference in their start at a new life.
On behalf of all the lives you have helped us saved, and all the ones we will help you’re your continued support, THANK YOU for partnering with us! Through your donation and by sharing our story with your friends and family, together we can continue to change the world one animal at a time!
