Our connection to God's Child Project began in 2009, when our close friend's mother began taking groups to Guatemala to volunteer with the organization. Fast forward 11 years, one of those friends, Brendan Dwyer, has dedicated the year to taking on the role of Director and volunteering his time to help the beautiful people of Guatemala. Brendan oversees several facets of the program in Guatemala, including their Casa Jackson Malnutrition Center, Santa Madre Homeless Shelter, ServiceTeam and Volunteer Program, scholarship programs, and operations including accounting, human resources, and multimedia.
Our plan was to visit Brendan and volunteer with God’s Child Project during his stay this year. Unfortunately, 2020 had other plans. And while we are disappointed we will not be able to make it, we are excited to become GCP Ambassadors and help raise the funds needed to continue the life-changing work they do on a daily basis. During this unprecedented time in our world, we are all craving connection. We are looking for ways to help one another, build each other up, and keep pressing forward. What better way to achieve this than by helping the thousands of children, mothers, and families the God’s Child Project supports? A little goes a very long way.
