Fresh Start Resource Center of Smyrna, Inc. was incorporated in April 2018. It was created to serve the population of the
Smyrna, Clayton, and Kenton communities as a response to a community need that extends well beyond emergency shelter situations. Currently, the present role of Fresh Start Resource Center is to supply the physical needs of the local community with food, clothing, toiletries, gas cards, bus tickets, medical needs, and occasional hotel accommodations. The organization is partnered with the local school district, churches, and local organizations and businesses to organize a weekly food giveaway to include clothing and blankets, serving 80 to 100 people per week. The broader goal of Fresh Start is to obtain a building that will allow the organization to realize its mission to administer to the additional needs of individuals by providing them with a consistent location to access support, services, and shelter.
Your individual support and donations will help Fresh Start Resource Center of Smyrna, Inc. to generate the necessary funds to provide food, clothing, medical needs, and transportation costs to empower members of our community to become stronger and self-sustaining. Additionally, as part of the larger goal, in helping Fresh Start to meet this challenge, we will be come eligible for a larger grant opportunity through A Community Thrives which will benefit Fresh Start’s efforts in obtaining a building to provide kitchen, bathroom, and laundry facilities, appropriate storage for food and clothing donations and giveaways, a training area for potential employment opportunities and computer access, and an area for individuals to find shelter from the elements on a daily basis. Fresh Start Resource Center of Smyrna, Inc. is so very grateful for your donation of a minimum of $10, $15, $25 or more.
