Hi all! On July 19-21, I will be running Ronda del Cims in Andorra, a 100 mile race with 13500m of climb in support of the charity I founded in 2014, Free to Run. To get me ready, I'm also running Lavaredo in Italy three weeks before! After a year and a half of being back in Afghanistan full-time, I can honestly say that I forgot how hard it is to be cooped up in a compound, unable to run freely through the mountains like I'm used to. But women and girls in places like Afghanistan and Iraq where Free to Run operates experience similar restrictions on a daily basis I founded this organization in the belief that EVERYONE should be free to run, no matter where in the world they might live. Free to Run provides outdoor sports opportunities and adventure to women and girls in conflict-affected areas, helping them to become leaders in their communities because they can and will be able to effect positive change.
Thank you for your support to the women and girls who Free to Run supports. I am personally grateful for the global running community... and for you.
