We need your help to help young people impacted by COVID-19 and social unrest. With your help we will use the funds to cover the demand for therapy amongst Black Children of Deceased Essential Workers (B CODE-W).
This group is at a greater risk of struggling with depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. To date we have covered the cost of over 55 therapy sessions for young people and counting (many of which our founder covered out of her own pocket). Your donations will help us reach even more B CODE-W beneficiaries. We have barely scratched the surface!
The cost of 1 therapy session is between $90-$175.
A $90 contribution can cover the cost of at least 1 therapy session, and that is better than nothing for these young people. If you OR someone you know has lost a parent or guardian to COVID-19, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn how to add them to our list of beneficiaries.
We created this campaign to prepare us for an unpredictable school year and depressing holiday season for black children who lost a parent or guardian due to COVID-19 and are impacted by our nations racial climate.
We are asking for a general donation or ongoing support for a Black Child that lost a parent/guardian due to COVID-19 ( B CODE-W), this group of children lost a parent or guardian because they had to work in order to cater to everyone else's needs in the midst of a contagious deadly disease. If you choose to provide "ongoing support" with a monthly or annual donation, it will allow us to give care packages to B CODE-W beneficiaries on their birthday, christmas & graduation (the occassions where the absence of a parent or guardian hits the hardest). In appreciation we will send you updates and acknowledge you as a B CODE-W Angel.
If you're reading this you understand how hard it is dealing with our current reality. Imagine what it's like for a young person. We appreciate your support and compassion.
Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Receipts are available upon donations.
WHO ARE WE? We are a 501c3 Nonprofit called YAP ABOUT IT Inc. established in December 2017. The Founder is a hispanic woman of color who created the "My Yap Pass" program so that beneficiaries ages 13-25 can receive access to free talk therapy via a network of licensed therapists. The therapists within our network share a common vision, compassion, and collaborative model of care for young people struggling with trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, and suicidal thoughts.
