This is Levi, a sweet young boy who is the love of our life. Levi has Autism, is non-verbal and has a sensory disorder. He also has adorable dimples, beautiful blue eyes and an infectious giggle. We like to say he is simply AWESOME! While Levi does have the capability to walk, many situations that we find “normal” can scare our sweet boy.
Without the ability to express himself he can shutdown or become very frightened in crowds or by noise others wouldn’t pay attention to. He has a tendency to bolt and wander, making parking lots and shopping centers a huge concern. Levi is 125 pounds now so he has outgrown the average stroller but still needs a comforting and safe place so he can go out with his family.
Since Autism is considered a mental health issue and not a disability, our health insurance company has denied his medically necessary chair TWICE! Our family does everything possible to provide the best for Levi but an adult sized stroller is currently out of our means.
Donating for Levi’s chair means giving a young child a safe space and ability to be out in public while finding comfort when it’s too much. Please consider donating whatever you can.
Your donation gives Levi and others like him the ability to have a piece of normalcy in the world.
