My name is Joshua Cranford, but everyone knows me as “Josh.” I was born on June 4, 1979 with Cerebral Palsy, commonly referred to as “CP”.
Although this condition affects my movement, muscle tone, and posture I do not let it stop my cheerful personality from shining.
Anyone who meets me is always greeted with a smile or squeal of excitement, this is just my form of communication. You better believe that I never forget a face!
I was one of the first students with special needs to attend school in the general education setting in Ouachita Parish. At first this proved to be challenging for myself and my parents, however over time the other students and teachers soon learned that my excitement was shown through shouts of joy. Throughout my years in school I made many friends.
Sporting events are an important part of my life. I have one sister, Kitty, who has three children. I enjoy attending their sporting events such as basketball and hardly miss a game.
Each year I have season tickets to cheer on the West Monroe Rebels, where I’m always welcomed with open arms.
I’ve been rolling with Ainsley’s Angels for a few years now. I love being around people and in the middle of the action. I especially prefer it when the ladies push me to the finish line.
My caretakers will tell you I get so excited the night before that I hardly sleep, so a nap is always in the post-race plan. My parents and family find happiness in seeing my bright, huge smile as I roll across the finish line.
My goal is to continue to roll with my Ainsley’s Angels family in Northeast Louisiana. The Ainsley’s Angels Chariot, All-around Blade, fits me like a glove. Consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to assist in purchasing my very own racing chair.
