Ainsley's Angels of Americais super excited to be spreading awareness and smiles through activism and education!
Enjoy this note from Ayden's Mom, Toni:
I have been married almost three years to my husband Richard and we have a almost two year old (September 27th) boy named Ayden. After I gave birth to my perfect 8lbs 22in baby they started poking him with needles and running test. Ayden was born with seizure like symptoms, apnea, and low muscle tone. He was sent to the NICU for the first two months of his life. They ran so many different test the first month until they ran a genetic test. When Ayden was about a month old they diagnosed him with 5Q31.3 microdeletion. At the time I was told this strange diagnosis my mom had to return home and my husband was deployed. I was alone when a room full of doctor told me my son would not walk, talk, crawl or even sit up. My husband returned home early from his deployment. We were released from the NICU at two months with a feeding tube. Ayden started physical therapy and occupational therapy at three months and is striving. He has mastered his own type of roll, he is recently prop sitting for about a minute, trying foods by mouth(still g-tube fed), and recently weight bared through his legs. He does not talk but he has his own language and has a lot to say. We were introduced to Ainsley's Angels of America a little over a month ago. I have never been apart of anything this amazing. I feel so blessed to be able to be active and have Ayden involved! We have ran our first race and had the best time. Ayden enjoyed it from start to finish. Having a chair of his own we will be able to get outside for a stroll more often outside of the races. Being able to get him in the chair everyday will help him be more comfortable when it is race day.
