I am excited to begin fundraising for the International Food Security Treaty Association. As the new Development Director, I am tasked with raising awareness and funds for this amazing organization, which is determined to end global hunger. I have already learned so much from these amazing and passionate individuals about the use of famine and starvation as a weapon during conflicts. I have come to understand that we have the technology and systems to supply basic food and nutrients to every person on this planet, but power struggles and lack of political will continue to result in thousands of starvation and malnutrition related deaths every day.
A donation of any amount allows this organization to continue its outstanding work of educating and energizing voters about ending hunger with the force of law. The International Food Security Treaty would do four major things:
1) PROVIDE ACCESS TO A MINIMUM STANDARD OF NUTRITION recognized by the United Nations to all people within its borders unable to gain such access on their own;
2) CONTRIBUTE TO A WORLD FOOD RESERVE AND RESOURCE CENTER as it is able, to assist any nation needing emergency help to provide such access;
3) ESTABLISH AND ENFORCE LAW prohibiting activities denying or intending to deny the minimum standard of nutrition to any person within its borders; and
4) SUPPORT UNITED NATIONS FOOD SECURITY ENFORCEMENT actions in nations whose governments are unable to enforce such law on their own, or who are found unwilling to do so through formal United Nations investigations.
If you cannot donate, please help us spread the word and share this campaign or start your own! Feel free to ask me how. Thank you for your support!
