After 14 years of wrongful imprisonment, Talalelei (TJ) Edwards continues his fight for freedom, to prove his innocence and clear his name. We remain well short of the $80,000 goal necessary for TJ’s case.

With his hearing date set for early January, AKIP continues to work diligently to prove TJ's innocence. However, TJ's case depends on you and your individual donations to fund the high costs associated with presenting his case.
It is not an option for his case to lack funding. TJ only gets one shot at proving his innocence. Presenting his case properly requires expert testimony to refute the junk science that resulted in his wrongful conviction. Anything less than full funding could lessen TJ’s chances to receive justice through a favorable court decision.
The Alaska Innocence Project is proud to represent TJ in his exoneration efforts. However, AKIP requires heightened financial support specifically for TJ’s trial. Covid-19 has made it especially difficult to meet this increased need, forcing us to cancel annual fundraiser events and guest speaker engagements beloved by our gracious donors.
Given these obstacles and TJ’s impending trial date, we must ask that you turn that graciousness up to 11! Any amount helps and is tax-deductible. If you have already donated, please consider donating again, then post or email this link so that we may bring others to join TJ’s cause.
Help us make AKIP’s first event after the virus a celebration of TJ’s exoneration.
