Let me introduce you to two beautiful young pups ... First up is 1.5 year old Macho!
Macho was brought into a local shelter, believe to have been hit by a car. In addition to a fractured hip, his front right leg suffered deep lacerations, which took months to heal. Once healed sufficiently, we scheduled him for hip surgery. Unfortunately, about a week before surgery, he broke out in a rash. We are currently treating him for this skin infection and once completely healed from that, he is scheduled for surgery mid-late June, tentatively.
Next up is Freckles! Freckles is just 10 months old and also brought in to a local shelter as a stray. She has no other injuries, other than a fractured hip, which leads us to believe that this was in fact caused intentionally vs being hit by a car. She came in just a few days prior to Macho's original surgery and we were able to use his reserved spot for her! She goes into the hospital on May 28th for preop, with surgery scheduled for the 29th.
Both of these young dogs are so incredibly sweet and friendly. They love everyone they meet and despite their injuries, they are still so full of love. They still have so much life to live and they deserve to live it without pain. It is because of their wonderful dispositions we decided to move forward with hip surgery for each of them, which costs $8,000 per dog. This includes the preop, surgery, postop and spay/neuter. They will have about an 8 week recovery and will be on crate-rest during this time. They are still available for adoption, so long as the prospective parents are able to provide this crate-rest. So if you are interested in adopting, please do not let this surgery be a deterrent :)
Thank you for taking the time to read their stories and please consider donating to their cause! Thank you!
