Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our shelter has been closed to the public since March 16th, 2020. Since then, we have received so much positivity and support from our animal loving community, and we just want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the kind words and donations that have been so generously given.
The last several weeks have been an interesting challenge and an adjustment to our “norm” but we just wanted to let you know that during this time of performing adoptions by appointment, we have happily found homes for 35 Adult Cats, 10 Kittens, 7 Adult Dogs, 8 Puppies, 6 Rats, and 1 Rabbit! We are accepting emergency surrenders for Franklin County residents by appointment as well. We will continue to do our best at serving our community and finding homes for the homeless animals of Franklin County, while maintaining our own safety and public safety to the best of our abilities. Our Pet Food Pantry will continue to be open from Noon to 2pm every Saturday as long as there is a community need for pet food and supplies.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to cancel our Maine Mega Yard Sale, which traditionally is our largest annual fundraiser. If you have the ability to give a donation to help us offset some of this loss, we greatly appreciate your generosity and support. If you are unable to give, we completely understand! These are hard times for everyone. Please help us by sharing this Fundraiser!
Since 1974, our purpose at the Franklin County Animal Shelter has been to provide temporary care and shelter to stray, homeless, and abandoned animals. We provide medical treatment including vaccinations and sterilization to all animals prior to finding their new furever homes. FCAS serves the community as an adoption facility where loving families and pets needing homes come together.
Thank you for your continuous support of our shelter and your furry friends here. We couldn’t do it without our amazing community and your support.
