The Franciscan Sisters, T.O.R. is a contemplative-active religious community that was founded in 1988 to renew the primacy of prayer that was central to the life of St. Francis and his early followers. This emphasis on prayer is essential for the renewal of our Christian culture and Catholic faith today. Our prayer life is composed of daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Liturgy of the Hours and devotional prayers such as the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. From our life of prayer flows the heart of our mission: to glorify God and to make known His merciful love through prayer and works of mercy to the poor, the sick, and those in need of evangelization. We serve through parish ministry, catechetical ministry, nursing home visits, soup kitchen ministry, vocational outreach, college campus ministry, retreats, pilgrimages and days of recollection and prayer.
