Who is Family Promise of Beaverton?
Family Promise of Beaverton (FPB) serves children and their families experiencing homelessness through community partnering. FPB coordinates with organizations to house families in the evenings/overnight and provide meals. FPB provides case management for the families and works with them to get into safe, secure, and stable housing.
Due to COVID-19, we are in urgent need to continue serving our guests, who we have moved to hotels to keep them safe. We are also getting calls for more help. Hundreds of families across the Beaverton School District are struggling to make ends meet.
What we need: funds to help children and their families experiencing homelessness stay safe during quarantine
Our model using community organizations and churches to house families and volunteers who provide meals is no longer safe for our volunteers or our guests due to this time of physical distancing.
Our temporary model involves moving some families into hotels and providing them with food and supplies, keeping them housed, safe, and isolated.
Things are changing fast and the longer we are quarantined, the greater the need grows. We are in uncharted waters and thinking through every creative solution possible.
If you are able to make a donation to Family Promise of Beaverton, please know we will do everything we can to make sure the money stretches as far as possible.
Note about GoFundMe fees:
Family Promise of Beaverton pays only for credit card processing at 1.9%+$0.30. In lieu of charging platform fees, GoFundMe collects optional tips from donors to fund platform fees. It is possible to choose a tip value starting at $0.
