Maya’s Hope helps disadvantaged children living in poverty and helps provide hope by instilling value and purpose in each child.
Nastya is 9 years old. While she was still in the womb, a "true knot" formed in her umbilical cord which led to hypoxia and a hemorrhage in her brain. After birth she spent two weeks in the intensive care unit, two months in the department of neonatal pathology, and was then discharged home with a lot of diagnoses, convulsions and lack of a swallowing and sucking reflex. Her parents refused to abandon their child and have fought a daily battle to keep their daughter happy and healthy.
In 2016, after another bout of pneumonia, Nastya was given a tracheostomy. Her trach needs constant suctioning to prevent her airways becoming obstructed.
We are fundraising to cover Nastia's needs for 6 months. This includes essentials such as: formula, diapers, medications and supplies for her trach.
