In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"Timofey was born in August 2018, he developed well, had a good appetite and was gradually gaining weight. At four months, Timofey was hospitalized with bronchitis. Then he was transferred to an infectious diseases hospital, as liver problems were discovered. Then we went to Kiev, for additional examinations. Four bowel operations were performed.
Timofey has been diagnosed with primary severe combined immunodeficiency,
secondary lactose deficiency and epileptic syndrome. Before he was active, crawling, sitting, playing with toys, ate, talking, smiling and everything. We rejoiced. Now, his condition has worsened. Timofey is again in the hospital, he has become very lethargic.
To maintain weight and give him more energy, he needs Peptamen junior (special nutrition). We hope you will be able to help my son."
Can you help us provide Timofey with formula for the next 3 months?
