In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Sasha and Anna are siblings who live with their family in Ukraine. Anna, is 5 years old and has spina bifida. Anna has minimal movement and sensation in her lower boy. She is unable to stand or walk. Sasha is 6 and has cerebral palsy. We have been providing them with diapers, wipes and vitamins since June this year.
Their mother reached out to us the other day and asked if it was possible to ask for some formula for Anna. She is not gaining weight and needs an extra boost of calories and nutrients.
We need to raise $165 to cover the costs of formula for Anna for the next 5 months. Can you help?
