In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
"My son Yegor was born at 39 weeks of pregnancy. On the 6th day of his life he began to have severe convulsions. We started taking anticonvulsants. Doctors assured that Yegor would develop normally, only with a delay. We underwent 3 courses of massage, engaged in therapeutic exercise, but the miracle did not happen. At 11 months we were diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia, structural epilepsy.
After that, the struggle for the life and health of our son began. We are constantly engaged with a rehabilitation specialist and speech therapist at home, 6 times a year we attend rehabilitation courses. Yegor is examined every 3 months in the hospital, where he is adjusted for medical treatment.
And it worked.
Yegor at the age of 4 is already able to crawl, sit and kneel on his own, he understands everything, smiles a lot, loves animals, is interested in everything around him. Yegor does not speak yet, but I believe that I will hear the long-awaited "MAMA".
My son needs special nutrition because long-term use of anticonvulsants has depleted his pancreas and liver. To gain strength and gain weight, doctors advised to give him a special mixture of Resource Junior.
Constant, regular rehabilitation and expensive food are difficult to provide financially, but we believe in our son, we want the best for him. We just need your help."
Can you help us provide formula to Ehor for the next three months?
