Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Keziah (Zaizai) is two years old and lives with her family in the Philippines. They may not have much, but their home is full of love. Zaizai has spina bifida and hydrocephalus. She had surgery to repair the split in her spine when she was a baby. Her hydrocephalus is monitored and doctors say she does not require a shunt.
In March, her father lost his job due to COVID. In July, Zaizai developed urosepsis and was hospitalized. Due to medical bills, their expenses are now even tighter. To earn money her parents do all they can. Her mother makes bows to sell. They sell dried fish and bananas. But it is not enough to cover Zaizai's additional needs.
We are raising funds to provide formula, diapers, vitamins, a neck support pillow and a pressure receiving foam mattress for Zaizai. Can you help? www.mayashope.org
