In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Meet Bogdan. He was born in 2011 and lives with his family in Ukraine. Bogdan has a very rare genetic diagnosis, Larsen Syndrome. The only diagnosed case in Ukraine. Larsen syndrome is a disorder that affects the development of bones throughout the body. He has also been diagnosed with spastic tetraparesis, microcephaly and neurosensory deafness. Bogdan can not sit or walk, it is difficult for him to breathe and eat. He eats through a nasogastric tube. Bogdan's family love him very much and fight daily to keep him home with them.
Please help us support this amazing family by providing a regular supply of formula and diapers to Bogdan for the next 6 months! We will also be sending hand sanitizer and masks.
