In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Masha is 5 years old and lives with her mama. She has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She is currently in the hospital and needed a blood transfusion. Her mother had to plead on Facebook for people with the same blood type to come to the hospital to donate blood for her. She also said Masha is only able to digest a special formula which is very expensive. US$20 per can!! Our program manager saw the post and said "we can help!".
So we are raising funds to purchase formula and medicines for Masha so she can regain and maintain her health. Can you help?
