In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Twin brothers Nikita and David were born prematurely at 6.5 months. Both boys spent over 3 months in intensive care. To fund their hospital stay, their parents sold everything in their home.
Nikita and David were both diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
In 2015, their father left the family. Now their mother is raising them alone. She fights each and every day to get the boys what they need to thrive and grow.
The brothers both need formula for extra calories and nutrition. One brother also needs diapers.
Can you help us raise the funds needed to cover the costs of formula and diapers for David and Nikita for the next 3 months?
