Why support this endeavor?
Almost every minute another American is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. As the baby boom generation gets older, those numbers will double. With 1 in 8 Americans ages 65 and over having Alzheimer's, our nation cannot wait to address this disease. Alzheimer's disease is not a normal part of aging, it is a silent killer. It is a disease that often times strike people in the prime of their life, having a devastating effect on their family and finances.
It is dear part of my life as I am a caregiver for my mother who is stricken with Dementia/Alzheimer's Disease in latter stages.
For those who have ever had loved ones- friends or family- affected by Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia, Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease...OR just a supporter…this race is for you! We are honored to have you join us in raising awareness locally to recognize the World Alzheimer’s month in September. http://tinyurl.com/forever5k2018
CAN’T COME…DO A VIRTUAL RACE
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RACE? A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You may complete your run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself; and your medal will be shipped directly to you. Complete a virtual 5K and post your results (day and race time) on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ForeverRemember5k
EX: John Doe (Buffalo, NY) completed Forever Remember 5k in 53:14
You may break your race dates into parts and complete a 5K walk or run in your area of choice. All race results must be posted by September 29, 2018.
