Congenital Cytomegalovirus, or CMV, is the most common viral infection, and the leading non-genetic cause of hearing loss, that infants are born with in the United States. Every pregnant woman is at risk of acquiring CMV. And only 9% of women know about it.
On Monday, April 6, 2020 , our friends in Texas are teeing off to increase congenital CMV awareness and ultimately #STOPCMV. As we work to spread awareness here in Georgia, we are proud to support families across the US as they work to do the same in their home states.
The National CMV Foundation is dedicated to promoting awareness, providing access to resources, and sharing prevention information to eliminate congenital CMV.
Together, we can #stopcmv.
