Cancer touches so many people. For me and my family, it took my Mother and Father. My mother lost her 5 year battle with ovarian cancer Decemebr of 2019 and my Father passed in May of 2020 from esophogeal cancer. To this very day we struggle with their loss. My cousin is currently conquering her battle with breast cancer. My dear friend has won her breast cancer battle. My dear Aunt Kay was also taken from this monster. I am also honoring a former wonderful colleague of mine who has struggled for years with brain cancer. My sister April Meade, my cousin Jamie Overton, my nephew Jared, my friend and cancer survivor Rebecca Maroney and myself are walking and running this half marathon in honor of those mention and for so many more of those who cannot. It is an honor and a pleasure to be able to do this. 13 miles in the chilly March weather through the hills of Rock Hill will never compare to what a cancer patient endures. Please help out if you can!
