This is the story of an 80-years young man named Percy and his beloved 10-year old dog Clyde.
Percy is a Viet Nam Army (hooah!) veteran who, by no fault of his own, lost his place to live. Percy is on a fixed income and has a limited budget. He is searching for a new place to live, that will allow him to keep his beloved dog and is within his means. Percy has been staying with a friend while Clyde has been staying with another individual. Clyde hasn't been doing well without his 'dad' and has lost quite a bit of weight, seems depressed, and is refusing to eat. He also has some skin issues and at some point down the road, will need to be neutered, fully vetted and have an eye issue attended to.
On 18 March 2020, we took Clyde to the vet. No major issues were found...so far, it's a matter of getting Clyde back to a healthy weight and a healthy state of overall being. His vet bill was $292. Clyde isn't finished with vet care, by any means, and worst case scenario, his care could cost up to $1200, especially if he doesn't start to eat and gain weight!
It is imperative we find a place for Percy and his canine pal to live, sooner as opposed to later. His rent budget is $500 and we've identified at least two possible rentals. Percy receives just under $1000/mo and this move will be impossible, without the help of our community. Bringing Percy and Clyde back together, under the same roof, will depend on the kindness of others.
The following defines what funds are needed for:
One month rent: $500
Rent deposit: $500
Pet deposit: $300
Vet expenses for Clyde: $1500 (All About Pets)
Anything collected, over and above, will support the basic needs of Percy and Clyde, such as food and other essentials for everyday living!
Help us help Percy and Clyde during these trying times. The companionship and love that our pets give us, and us to them, is priceless! Together, we can get and keep these senior best pals under the same roof...providing each other the undeniable camaraderie they both depend upon to brighten their days!
Will you give the gift of health for Clyde and a home for Percy and Clyde?
Jennifer U., thank-you for being Percy and Clyde's guardian angel!
All funds will be dispersed through the non-profit St. Clair County Animal Welfare Advocates. This endeavor is a team effort and we are proud and honored to live in such a caring and kind community!
