September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation is raising money to support some of Western New York's toughest patients.
Through the Roswell Park Oishei Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program, children and teens battling cancer and hematologic disorders receive coordinated care for their specific treatments. Patients needing inpatient services, such as surgeries, bone marrow transplant (BMT) and critical care, are admitted and cared for at Oishei Children's Hospital (OCH). Outpatient services, such as chemotherapy/infusion treatments, transfusions and radiation therapy are provided at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The money raised throughout the month of September will help provide critical supplies and services to patients and families receiving long term care at OCH. Meals, child life support, and diversional activities are some of the critical needs of patients and families needing treatment.
Thank you for your support! Through this fundraiser and this incredible partnership, patients and families battling pediatric cancer and hematologic disorders can receive the best care, right here at home.
