MY STORY: About four years go, my step-father, Jamie, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Since then, I have been persistently trying to assist myself and others in the growth of knowledge and caution behind cancer prevention. Cancer, in all forms, is a deadly and unforgiving sickness that no one in this world should ever have to endure. If you feel so obligied, please consider donating to my fundraisng page to support my efforts in supporting all of those, and their loved ones, who have been and continue to be impacted by cancer! All of the proceeds will go towards The Crucial Catch program and the American Cancer Society, which you can read more about down below. (:
Since 2009, the National Football League (NFL) and the American Cancer Society have teamed up in the fight against cancer through the Crucial Catch initiative. Each year, schools, leagues, intramural clubs and community athletic organizations from across the country do their part to raise awareness and funds to help save lives from cancer.
What is Crucial Catch?: The Crucial Catch program focuses on early detection, education, and access to screenings that can catch cancer early, when it may be easier to treat. Participating clubs work to extend the reach of the NFL’s national program through local grassroots efforts focused on promoting cancer screenings, honoring cancer survivors, and planning special in-stadium or pre-game events in partnership with the American Cancer Society. Through these efforts, teams can help intercept cancer in their hometowns by supporting the program in ways that meet the needs of their communities. This partnership has raised $21 million in support of the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives from cancer by funding grants to help people in underserved communities receive potentially lifesaving screening resources.
