This is our 5th year doing a pajama and book drive for Pajama Program. I have been overwhelmed by the support and the kindness of family, colleagues, friends, and even friends of friends! In a time where there seems to be so much negativity and uncertainty in the world with hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, political unrest, illness, shootings, and pain the hope, love, and generosity shown by the people who donate restores my faith in humanity again and again.
In the past 4 years you amazing people have provided 771 pairs of pajamas and 284 books to deserving children in the Philadelphia region, and more than $3,000 in donations to this program nationwide.
For those of you who are not familiar, Pajama Program is a registered non-profit 501 (c) (3) that provides new pajamas and books to children, often in foster homes or shelters, many of whom sleep in their clothes at the end of the day because they don't have pajamas. These children may not have heat on at night. They may not have any possessions of their own, and having a book that they can write THEIR NAME in is an incredible gift. We will be collecting pajamas and books for children ages 0-12 now through the beginning of December.
In the past 4 years the donations have gone to 4 very worthy Philadelphia organizations: The Drueding Center, Title One Charter School, Freedom Valley YMCA, and Cradles to Crayons. Pajamas and books can be dropped off at our home or I'm happy to pick them up. Any financial contributions can be made to this page. Whether you're able to donate $5 or one book, I am so so grateful. Thank you for all that you do to help children feel loved and safe. XOXOX Jocelyn
