Like many people, I've turned to baking during this pandemic. And, as it turns out, one of my love languages is cooking/baking to feed people I care about. I wanted to find a way to keep baking but also translate that into a way to help get food to people facing food insecurity during this time. So, I've created a bake sale!
I wanted to pick somewhere that was helping address food insecurity due to Covid but TCAH has had huge impacts around food access for years.
Since March, The Campaign Against Hunger has:
Served over 1.4 million individuals, provided enough food for over 13.9 million nutritious meals, experienced a 1020% increase in daily food distribution efforts, ben packing and distributing upwards of 2,800 bags of groceries for families daily, established over 300 new community partnerships in Brooklyn and Queens and maintained their mobile pantry in South Bronx to meet the community’s needs.
Each week, check out what's for sale on my Instagram stories @eswix.
