We are heading back to visit our partner villages on the slopes of Volcano Fuego this May to deliver much needed food supplies to the elderly in our program. These food bags are often the only source of nutrients these beautiful, but neglected souls receive. Often, they have survived the rest of their family members or their family struggles too much in supporting the children that the elderly go hungry. This where The Village Experience can step in and make a real difference.
Our team is comprised of the following:
Village Experience Co-founder, Kelly Campbell
Village Cooperative Board Members Rachael Eckles, Marcy Golden, and Mikki Trowbridge
Frequent Travelers Amy Goforth, Kelly Clark, Sue Moore, and Mary Oreskovich
Along with our partners at Vamos Adelante, we will be visiting the villages and hand delivering the food to their homes. We will be taking the time to listen to the recipients, to hear their thoughts and concerns, to connect, and to let them know that they have a huge global family looking out for them.
We are asking people to donate $25 to purchase one entire food bag for a person consisting of things such as rice, beans, pasta, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, long life milk, cereal, cookies, nuts, and soup. These food bags can last each person for months and is often their only means of survival.
We have been providing assistance to these communities in Zapote, Ceylan, Osuna, ChuChu, and more for over 12 years, and it is one of our favorite programs. The impact is real, personal, and beyond meaningful. These recipients are family....and we can't wait to get back to spend time with them.
All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you in advance for your support of this program.
