Give Local Food:
The current COVID-19 crisis has created more families in need, escalating our efforts here at Glynwood to increase access to regional food. We are raising funds to help cover the costs of Glynwood's farm's donations to local food access and emergency food efforts. Your gift will directly support our donations to:
- The Philipstown Food Pantry
- Vineyard Church Pantry
- Fred's Pantry in Peekskill
- Second Chance Foods
- Double the number of subsidized shares we offer to low income families in our area
- Donate product, including meat, to restaurant and catering partners working together through FIG ("Food Issues Group") in NYC to create meals and deliver groceries to people at high risk of food insecurity right now, like their undocumented, out-of-work food industry colleagues.
"With the support of programming like Glynwood has created, it aids small farms in finding their place in doing this meaningful work that feeds all folks in their communities - not just the ones who have the economic ability to dine at farm to table restaurants or pay farmer's market prices." - Leslie Lewis, Second Wind CSA
$25 - provides two weeks of fresh vegetables for a family on a limited income.
$100 - funds two months of vegetable share pick-ups for one family through our low-cost CSA share program.
$500 - supports thousands of pounds of vegetable donations to our gleaning partner, Second Chance Foods, who turns those raw ingredients into healthy meals for food pantry clients
$1,000 - allows us to donate enough Glynwood-Grazed meat for hundreds of meals for restaurant industry workers through FIG's efforts
$5,000 - supports two months of staff time to develop and run programs that advance food access in our region.
