Flore Hiensch believed that economic independence is a critical step for a refugee on the path to integrating into his or her new community. We created Flore Foundation to carry out Flore's vision to promote social enterprises that benefit refugees. Flore Foundation is developing partnerships with organizations to identify social entrepreneurs whose businesses afford opportunities for refugees and their families to attain their dreams. Open to supporting start-up social enterprises as well as those with operational experience, Flore Foundation seeks to fund those entrepreneurial ideas which will create a positive impact on refugees' communities and local economy by way of increasing employment opportunities, improving education, advancing community integration, enhancing healthcare or social well-being.
We have identified potential grant recipients in the United States involved in the restaurant and tailoring industries. These individuals require assistance with specific elements of their enterprise. For example, Flore Foundation grants will finance licensing fees and start-up costs. In other instances, our grants will provide necessary funding for materials or equipment. We need your help to support these refugees as they pursue a self-sustainable livelihood. Please consider your contribution.
