Freshwater Future is teaming up with the Flint Development Center to create a community owned and operated water testing lab - and we need your help!
Will you help build water safety and trust in Flint this holiday season?
This lab will provide Flint with:
--A trusted source of water testing services for Flint’s 30,000 homes
--Access to sound information about the safety of their water
--A way for Flint youth to lead the way out of the Flint Water Crisis
Why Flint Development Center?
This summer the Flint Development Center and partners launched a Community Youth Water Testing Program. Flint youth took leadership to test residential water. Now we need to build a lab to test more homes. Your contribution to this campaign will go directly toward building the Community Water Lab and supporting the youth water testing program.
Why the Community Water Lab?
For months Flint residents drank water with dangerously high levels of lead and were repeatedly told their water was safe when it was not. Flint residents deserve to know whether their water is safe - and they deserve to have it done by a trusted source. This Community Water Lab will help residents not only test their water but the effectiveness of their filters too.
Working with several partners, we secured generous donations of equipment for lead testing. Your donation today will help us purchase other supplies and equipment and allow us to upgrade the building to accommodate the demands for a water lab.
