I'm a clinical psychologist, Zen Buddhist priest, husband, and dad. I am also a Flatwater Foundation provider, meaning I provide psychotherapy to Flatwater Foundation patients and family members. The Flatwater Foundation provides unlimited, free counseling sessions to cancer patients and their family members. The Flatwater Foundation inspires me to be the best psychologist I can be, and I want to run the Austin Half Marathon to support a charity I believe in. I ran cross country in college. After college, I ran ultra marathons (races longer than marathon distance). But in my late 30s I had children and enrolled in a PhD program for psychology. Given those life changes I gave up my beloved practice of running, and I did not run seriously for over 12 years. Now I'm back, committing to running the Austin Half Marathon, which happens to fall on the weekend of my 50th birthday, and supporting the Flatwater Foundation-a charity I believe in. Please join me in supporting the Flatwater Foundation, a non-profit that helps to make the world a better place. Thank you.
