Our team is collectively accepting a challenge to use some of our summer fun time to support cancer patients and survivors by participating in the Lahey Cancer Institute 5K Walk & Run. What could be better than raising funds to help cancer patients and survivors, while having fun together?
Our team is running in honor of Uncle John, a survivor of colon cancer and Aunt Cathy, a survior of breast cancer.
The virtual event is happening July 23-31, 2021. During that time, our team members will mapping out and completing their own 5K routes. Cat, Milo, Rowan and myself will run around Horn Pond in Woburn.
The funds we raise reach cancer patients at those sites. Over the past 15 years, the Lahey Cancer Institute 5K Walk & Run has raised more than $3.25 million. Funds have been used for purchasing new equipment for cancer treatment, support groups, cancer survivor program, blanket warmers, renovating treatments rooms for patient comfort, healing gardens, and more.
Thank you for your support! Joan
