Fishing Inspires Special Hearts (F.I.S.H.) is a non-profit charity organization located in central Wisconsin. Our mission is to enrich the lives of children with disabilities by providing the opportunity to spend time outdoors and get hooked on fishing. Each special angler is paired with an experienced angler to fish from shore. Together, they will try to catch the big one!
Our plan is to hold 1-2 events each summer on one of Wisconsin's beautiful lakes. Each event would allow up to 20 special anglers and their families to enjoy the outdoors, fish, spend time with new friends, enjoy some good food and have FUN!
The goal is to raise enough money to be able to purchase fishing supplies, food, games, prizes, etc, for events in 2021. Each of the special anglers would go home with a fishing pole and small tackle box of their own so they can continue to enjoy the sport of fishing!
A little bit about how we got started.. FISH was started by Travis (age 19) and Alexis Wright (age 17) who have worked with children with disabilities in a couple different capacities for the past couple of years. Travis is an avid fisherman who had the idea to merge his love of fishing and caring for special children together! Travis is currently a sophmore at UW- Stevens Point and Alexis is a freshman both majoring in Special Education teaching.
Please consider donating to FISH and help provide children with disabilities the opportunity to get hooked on fishing! Donations to FISH are tax deductible.
