In response to COVID-19 we have made the decision to shift our fundraising focus to provide funding to front line agencies that are fighting for a stronger and healthier community by meeting the basic needs of our most vulnerable residents.
For the Anderson, SC community, these agencies have appointed United Way of Anderson County to steward the collections of goods and funding . The partner organizations that will be receiving equal disbursements of all collections include:
Anderson Emergency Soup Kitchen
Good Neighbor Cupboard
Meals On Wheels
South Main Chapel & Mercy Center
The LOT Project
The Salvation Army
Second Harvest Food Bank
Clemson Community Care (serves Pendleton)
We will provide updates as available and once our community stabilizes, we will once again direct our fundraising efforts on our Operation Active Kids program. Thank you for allowing us to be flexible during this time.
We continue to encourage physical activity and it is for this reason that we will continue to offer programs that support activity. Please stay connected to our social media accounts and watch for emails to learn more about opportunities to stay active!
We believe that we are STRONGER and HEALTHIER when we work together!
Please read further to learn about how we impact our community.
First Flight Alliance is on a mission to inspire first steps that grow stronger, healthier communities.
We do this by engaging the community in educational and fitness programs, organizing family friendly events that promote active lifestyles and providing opportunities for kids to be active through our Operation Active Kids, OAK scholarship program.
WE BELIEVE THE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!
The mission of the Operation Active Kids, OAK scholarship program is to provide funding to children in the community who want to play sports and other recreational activities.
OAK will provide partial to full scholarships to help eligible families cover the costs associated with youth sports. We believe that by simply planting a seed, we can grow a community of OAK strong children.
Why the OAK tree? The oak tree is a symbol of strength and endurance; its roots dig deep, providing it with a strong foundation to grow and withstand the test of time.
