Update - July 27th - Thank you to the generous early donors that raised over $1,800 in 8 days! My next goal is to double my amount of donors to 56 by getting 28 more donors at just $10 each.
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
On behalf of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Fireflies New York accepts and extends the battle to cure blood cancers.
To raise funds and awareness, we will depart Niagara Falls on Saturday, September 8th and cycle 550 miles to New York City. To further my commitment and to ask you for yours, I am challenging myself by riding my bike 650 miles unsupported from Chicago to Niagara Falls where I'll then join my fellow Fireflies and complete the remaining 550 miles.
Cycling from Chicago to New York City, 1,200 miles in 14 days, will be a grueling test of physical and mental endurance, requiring months of training and preparation. Yet, it pales in comparison to the pain and suffering these diseases causes its victims and families.
My goal is to raise $2,500 by our arrival in New York City on September 14th.
Please help me reach my goal by donating and spreading the word.
For those who suffer we ride.
