The Lefthand Fire Protection District exists to serve residents, cyclists and mountain bikers, recreational enthusiasts and visitors. Powered by a volunteer corps of more than 40 highly trained emergency personnel, the Lefthand FPD provides structural fire protection, emergency medical services, wildland firefighting and services to homeowners such as wildfire mitigation. And, our personnel and equipment are frequently dispatched nationwide to support large incidents and emergencies.
The Lefthand FPD covers more than 52 square miles of rugged ridges, canyons and plans, and each year responds to hundreds of requests for help each year. For more than 40 years, the Lefthand FPD has helped protect the community. And now, we need your support to ensure we can continue.
After more than four decades, our current station has long since reached the end of its useful life. We have secured a $1 million grant from the State of Colorado’s Department of Local Affairs to build a new station, and we’re nearly halfway to our goal for a new facility that will enable us to provide an even greater response time and range of services. Will you support our efforts to build a new station?
If you’ve ever driven or ridden up Lefthand Canyon, you know that we’ve always been there for you. Your support can help us continue these services for the next generation. Please donate now.
