For over 50 years, the Lefthand Fire Protection District has been dedicated to protecting residents, cyclists, outdoor enthusiasts and visitors to our district. Lefthand’s crew of paid and unpaid professionals, more than 40 emergency personnel, are highly trained and experienced in structural firefighting, emergency medical services, wildland firefighting and structure protection, and services for homeowners like wildfire mitigation.
If you’ve ever passed our current station on Lefthand Canyon Drive, you know how dire our need for a new facility is. Our main fire station is critically deficient. This antiquated facility is more than 50 years old and was simply not built for the size of modern firefighting equipment. Protecting our communities during peak fire seasons, like this last one, which destroyed more than 1,100 square miles — or more than 1% of our entire state, means being able to deploy adequate emergency resources quickly, and we need your help to effectively do so.
Thanks to a catalytic grant from the State of Colorado, we have already raised more than $1 million for a new Lefthand Fire Station, and we are seeking tax-deductible contributions to help us complete construction.
Your donations will help us ensure every firefighter can come back to a station that is equipped for modern equipment to have a warm meal and comfortable living quarters. These brave firefighters respond to our community’s emergencies. When we ask them to either sleep in their cars or drive several hours away because the station can’t accommodate them, that impacts Lefthand’s ability to deploy teams throughout the community.
With your generous support, we can meet the challenges future fire seasons pose with the confidence that the people fighting these fires are well prepared and equipped to do everything they can to protect you and your home.
Charitable contributions to Lefthand Fire Protection District are tax-exempt and tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
