UPDATE: If we raise $35,000 we will unlock a $150,000 opportunity. Between funds already raised and this oppotunity, we will reach our goal. Can you donate $35 for $35k? We only need 1,000 people to donate $35!
Like most other community health centers in the state, Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado is overcrowded and being flooded with requests for help. As the effects of the COVID crisis continue to be realized, requests are coming in at an alarming rate, many exhibiting more serious and complex challenges.
After successfully raising funds to build a 2,000 square foot addition to double it's capacity this year, Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado was informed that it must install an additional fire hydrant and widen its driveway before it can break ground on it's addition. The addition will double the number of clients seen by the organization, eliminate the current waitlist of clients waiting for care, and provide better accessibility for future clients.
“As a nonprofit, we operate with little to no surplus in our budget. We worked so hard to raise the amount of money we needed to build our addition and it’s heartbreaking to know how many people need us and that we just can’t get them in the door until we can pay for this.” Becki Taylor Development Director explains, “These projects, the fire hydrant and the driveway, are unexpected and exceedingly expensive. Initial estimates are averaging around $200,000. We hope that by reaching out to our community, you can help us cover these costs and make it possible for us to see twice the number of clients we see already.”
The impact of your donation will ultimately lead to increased access to care at one of the most unique state recognized community mental health centers in Colorado.
Any additional funds raised above the final cost of this project will be used to support the construction of our addition.
