My mom Susan Deborah Anderson was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometrial Cancer in August 2015 and has fought this disease for almost 5 years with multiple surgeries and treatments of chemotherapy. In July 2017 she had her bladder removed after the cancer took over; within 2 weeks my dad became ill unexpectedly and passed four days after their 33 year wedding anniversary. She got herself up and walking within 2 weeks and strong enough to lay him to rest within 6 months we found ourselves battling the cancer once again this time a tumor within the vaginal wall. SeverAl treatments later she was cancer free For almost a year. On September 24, 2019 i took my mom to the emergency room for dizziness and leg pain that same day they were going to allow her to discharge home but I encouraged an overnight stay. From that point on she has been hospitalized from blood clots, from stints being inserted to open the vein, to test to later confirm the cancer returned with yet another tumor near her pelvis and had spread to the liver and colon. Numerous IV blood thinners and blood transfusions on going up until last week. She attempted rehab to walk and tried for a week before she was having another surgery to stop the bleeding in her rectum which brought us to fork in the road where the clots could not be treated with thinners because she continued to bleed out. she was given a few days to a few weeks at most last Saturday when she suffered hallucinations and had to make the hardest decision of putting her on comfort care. It has not been a week and she has declined and in inpatient hospice care nearing the end. After months of medical needs our family is suffering a great loss. Anyone who knows my mom knows she is stubborn and continues to hold on.
