Help us support our Community by supporting our Non-Profit & Recovery Living Home during this time of need.
Every day, our committed board members of Fight the Fight Against Addiction work to support the community we serve. Now, we need your help more than ever. Our organization is committed to helping those struggling with Substance Use Disorder, those who are in recovery for SUD (addiction), and their families... to get the help and the resourcses and support they so desperately need. The coronavirus crisis has affected us all in one way or another. And, honestly, those suffering with any form of mental illness are affected on another level than many others, as a crisis of this magnatude really makes them feel helpless and hopeless. This is hard for all of us, but some more than others. Sadly, drug overdose deaths have gone up in our community since the COVID-19 stay at home order. That makes it even more important that we continue to help those still struggling.
A few ways the coronavirus has impacted Fight the Fight...
We are not able to have the annual fundraisers that we rely on to raise money to help others. Our annual April Hope Fest brings us $7,000-10,000 each year. And we can't do our Peoria Chiefs fundraiser this year either, which brings in a couple grand. This really hurts us. All the money we had saved went into buying and renovating our first recovery living home in Pekin, Alan's House. We even ran out of money before paying all our hired help. And we still have a few more things to do before the upstairs unit is ready to open. The great thing is we did finally get to open the first floor unit, and we have 4 guys living there already! These guys are getting the support and strength they need, that will surely increase their sobriety success rate so much more than if they did it alone!
We kindly ask that you join us in supporting our community by supporting us. This fundraiser has the ability to raise our non-profit a little more than most social media fundraisers, as it's a MATCHING campaign so we have an opportunity to also receive $1,000 from GoFundMe! Your gift will help provide first months rent for people in recovery wanting to move into sober/recovery living homes, and will help us finish renovations on the second unit of Alan's House to provide sober living for 5 more guys, and will help us continue to provide addiction help and resources to those who need it (we have more big plans to bring more wonderful resources to our community). Thank you and God Bless. Stay safe and well!
