Our dear friend and beloved Coach Fraga and his family have given so much love and support to our community. Now is our time to help them! Months ago Josiah, Coach Fraga's son, was diagnosed with PANS (pediatric acute onset neuropsychiatric syndrome), triggered from a viral or bacterial sinusitis or upper respiratory infection he contracted in December. PANS causes movement trouble, ocd, speech decline, wt loss, cognition change, aggression, and function loss due to temporary affect on the brain. Josiah has been overtaken by an extreme case of PANS and his symptoms will require months to resolve, including current inpatient care. Despite this battle, Josiah is strong willed, and has a good prognosis for a full recovery. The DaRosa family says: "Our life has been changed forever by this extremely dark trial, however we feel the Lord nearby and see him through the mobilization of people loving us, praying, and supporting. We are believing our once perfectly athletic, academic, funny, social fella will emerge again by Gods hand".
For now, their family needs financial support. They are currently staying in a hotel near the Shands hospital due to the Ronald McDonald house being unavailable during COVID-19. They are forced to pay out of pocket for specialty doctors care that insurance will not cover. To add to the burden, they will have to replace A/C ducts in their home due to the presence of mold spores found upon inspection. These spores can be a major cause of inflammation in the body as well, and have to be removed for Josiah to return home safely. Please help us support this beautiful family during this difficult time! Any donation will help tremendously. Thank you all !
