We are all aware of the deep divisions in our society, of people left behind with valid concerns about their most basic survival needs and of others who may feel bewildered or alienated by cultural changes. Too many Americans have been led astray from the positive values of compassion and civility we need to thrive as a nation. Now is the time for all Americans to stand up for our common humanity.
The InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington invites you to take action by supporting WIROC; an initiative that sustains and unites all who live and pray in our region. WIROC (Washington Interfaith Response and Outreach Coalition) is a regional, multi-faith grassroots network of congregations and individuals that responds in person to threats and attacks against individuals and houses of worship. WIROC also proactively initiates public expressions of solidarity by and for individuals and communities throughout the region.
As a regional, multi-faith network, WIROC:
• Responds in person to acts of targeted vandalism, hateful speech, and other types of emotional and physical attacks on faith communities and individuals.
• Sponsors and supports pro-active outreach opportunities year-round throughout the region including community-building activities such as Unity Walks and interfaith dialogues.
We are looking to you to help us raise $15,000 by the end of the year so that we can achieve these goals. If you would prefer to give by check, you can mail your contribution to The InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington, 100 Allison St NW, Washington DC 20011.
If WIROC represents what you believe in, then please consider giving generously. With your support, we can make WIROC sustainable today and into the future!
