About 1 in 54 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Autism spectrum disorder is more than 4 times more common among boys than among girls.
My name is Jamila Tucker Mulero. In 2017 I founded Autism R.E.C. to disrupt the Autism family services space. Our organization impacts families with autistic children through family support groups, social skill assessment, sports, and workforce preparation. We meet families where they are and help them chart a course to successful outcomes. The outcomes include improved socialization skills, access to community resources, and family success strategies.
If you know or have known of a child who has been personally impacted by autism, we need your help. Today you can make a financial contribution in any amount to assist us in our mission. I am actively working to raise $10,000 to support our programming and Autism month awareness initiatives. We are working on completing 200 Autism Sensory Care kits to distribute to autistic children who are currently learning through remote schooling. The impacts of COVID-19 have been devastating to many autistic children because of the disruption of established routines and norms.
It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a tribe to help them succeed. Will you join our tribe to write a success story for an autistic child and their family?
The van in our picture gallery is a van that was donated to Autism R.E.C we need to get the van registered and transferred to our organization. The van is also in need of a paint job and tires we received an estimate of $800.00-$1,000.00 depending on paint or wrap. This van will allow us to make more food deliveries in one day. This van would also be used for transportation for autistic children and their families to get back and forth to programs, therapy sessions and doctor appointments
The mission of Autism R.E.C is to provide community education, programs, critical resources, recreational activities, and support services to the families of autistic children.
We envision a world where families of all autistic children receive support they need to ensure they and their children live the fullest lives possible in spite of the challenges of autism.
