I've been around horses since before I could walk—literally. At 3 months old my parents had me on the back of a horse and I've been hooked since. I've competed in equine competitions for a majority of my life and eventually landed my current position as managing editor of Horse&Rider Magazine. I've seen what horses can do to help those with special needs, and when I was given the opportunity to participate in Founder Fights, I knew I wanted to fight for an equine therapeutic riding center so more people are given the opportunity to connect with horses in a way that helps them.
This is why I have chosen to fight for the nonprofit Hearts & Horses. Their mission is to promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being of people with special needs through equine-assisted activities and therapies. They also offer a program called Hearts & Horses for Heroes which helps veterans heal and grow by restoring of their mind, body, and spirit through their interactions with horses, each other, and the natural world.
Please join me in my fight by donating to Hearts & Horses!
